“Out of all of the weddings I’ve officiated, this is the first one where I’ve heard the groom audibly say ‘wow’ when he saw the bride walking toward him.” Walt and Marie’s officiant welcomed everyone to their wedding reception by giving guests an inside look at Walt’s exclamation as Marie walked down the aisle. There’s something about the charisma shared between this couple and getting to know them over coffee and at their engagement/family session at Historic Oak View was nothing short of exhilarating. Walt and Marie insisted that their merging families be known as “the blend”, a sweet description of their children becoming siblings. Walt and Marie carried out the theme of blending, incorporating parents, siblings, and their sweet kiddos into every moment in their day. Marie had her daughter and maid of honor, Gabi, and soon-to-be daughter and bridesmaid, Alexa, place her veil and assist with her dress at the beautiful Mayton Inn, the location where Walt proposed. Maried had sweet moments with her college friends as well as a tearful first look with her dad. Meanwhile, Walt spent time at Chatham Station getting ready with Davis, his oldest, spending the remaining time prior to seeing Marie laughing and greeting guests. Walt and Marie had such a meaningful ceremony, complete with Davis pretending that he didn’t have the rings, an antic that the officiant recalled reminded him of Walt. Following the ceremony, Patrick and I took some careful time with ‘the blend’ along the streets in Cary to give them beautiful family images as well as give them the opportunity to soak in their first few minutes as husband and wife. Upon returning, it was dancing, complete with individual dances between Walt and his mother as well as with his two daughters. The night ended with a field truck overlooking the sparklers that guided Walt and Marie toward their exit. To say that this wedding was 100% blended and sentimental would be an understatement and I’m beyond thankful that they chose Patrick and I to capture it all. Here’s to Walt and Marie’s downtown Cary wedding at the beautiful Chatham Station in Cary, NC.
