“Plan A was marrying her a long, long time ago. Pretty much the day I met her.” – Jim from the Office
When I think of these two, the following come to mind: genuineness, fun, and hustle. I also think of Office quotes, Carolina Hurricanes, and Letter Me Lovely. Patrick and I had an absolute blast at their engagement session last fall and eagerly anticipated their gorgeous Market View at Market Hall.
Because Alexa is in the wedding industry and CJ is detail oriented, they orchestrated the most detailed and beautiful wedding day in Downtown Raleigh. They chose a Sunday in October, and the after effects of summer lingered as the day stayed nice and warm. Despite the heat, CJ and Alexa had the best attitudes! Their day began with Alexa and her ladies and Alexa splurged on getting the Mrs Box just for her details! A woman after my own heart!!! Alexa had two first looks; one with her bridesmaids and one with her dad, and I definitely got misty when some of the most important people in her life saw her moments before she would walk down the aisle. CJ’s reaction to seeing her was hands-down the most my heart had ever been wrenched on a wedding day and I happy cried my way through editing their ceremony. It was in that moment that the connection these two had and the love they had built was poured out for all of their friends and family to see. Patrick and I could not rest our shutters and absolutely loved getting to witness these two beginning life together.
At the end of the ceremony, CJ’s brother pronounced him and Alexa as husband and wife (cue more happy tears), and the emotion that we captured from these two walking back up the aisle was contagious. Following family portraits we stole CJ and Alexa away to Vintage Church for couple portraits, returning to Market View at Market Hall for the reception.
Patrick and I voted and decided that this was the most hyped wedding reception we’ve ever captured, and we had a blast photographing all of the endless energy from their reception. As a way to end the night, CJ and Alexa had a ribbon exit that led them to their getaway car: a Corvette Convertible.
I hope you feel in these images exactly what we did: intentional and deeply connected love.
After I wiped my tears, it was time to spend some time with CJ and his hilarious groomsmen.
